March marks National Social Work Month! National Social Work month was established in 1955 to educate the public on how social workers have helped to bring major positive social change, how they have improved the lives of many individuals and families, and how they will continue to do so in the future. 2015 signifies the 60th anniversary and this year’s slogan is…Social Work Paves the Way for Change. This year’s theme was selected to demonstrate what the National Association of Social Workers has accomplished over the past six decades to bring about positive changes in society and for individuals.
Medical Social Workers play a critical role within Home Health & Hospice Care (HHHC). Joan Weddle, Masters of Social Work (MSW), has been with HHHC for over 24 years, and a Medical Social Worker for almost 40.
