Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for the kind of rewards out of life that money just can't buy? Become a volunteer!
Home Health & Hospice Care needs volunteers to provide family visits, respite care, bereavement support, and transportation to home care and hospice clients and their families in southern NH and northern MA. You can give this life-enhancing support in 1-4 hours per week, at your convenience, and no medical experience is required.
Twice yearly, HHHC offers a free, 30-hour Training and Education Program for potential hospice volunteers. This training is required of all volunteers who will be working with patients. Training sessions are held in our Merrimack office. Sample topics include: Hospice Philosophy, Listening Skills, Grief and Bereavement, and Pain Control. HHHC's clinical staff facilitates classes.
Become part of a necessary team by helping families feel less alone during a difficult time. You can provide emotional support, transportation, and friendly visits to individuals with a life-threatening illness, as well as give family members some time off or bereavement care.
HHHC has many other volunteer opportunities that do not require specialized training. Our volunteers also perform administrative and clerical duties, plan and staff special events and fundraisers, and even do landscaping at the Community Hospice House.
Last year alone, over 300 HHHC volunteers gave 6,276 patient hours, 1,208 special event hours, and 3,653 administrative hours, driving 61,409 miles to perform these critical services.
To take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference, please call the Patient Care Volunteer Coordinator, at 603.424.3822 or email at volunteer@hhhc.org.
